42 year career at C-Level positions in SME’s and publicly-listed companies across the advertising, digital media, eCommerce, marketing, recruitment and traditional media sectors in Asia-Pacific and the UK.
He started his career in advertising and marketing in Australia in 1976 for the advertising agency DDB and progressed from mail-boy running errands, to National Media Director and Director of the Board 10 years later. In 1996, he established Australia’s first digital media agency and launched WPP’s GroupM media operations. In 2005, as head of Publicis Groupe Media China, he conceived and established CMX-China Media Exchange – China’s 2nd largest purchaser of offline and online media. As APAC CEO for TMP Worldwide (which now trades as Monster Worldwide and Hudson Recruiting), he effectively managed a workforce of 2,400 through the dot-com boom and bust.
Since his first China experience in 1995, he has established JV’s, launched new brands and is now an active investor, Chairman and mentor to several start-ups through his private holding company Dubeta Ventures China.
He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, where he majored in corporate governance, risk-management and strategic planning. Oh and he loves flying helicopters.
