Chunyan See is a Senior Manager at MediaTek. Prior to that, he was the Head of Business Development at LotaData. See is a mobile veteran in the telecommunications industry accumulating great experience in technology, project delivery, sales/business development, legal, fund-raising, operations and strategic alliances. He has been proposing, developing and delivering innovative mobile applications using a wide range of mobile technologies for over customers in S.E Asia since 1998.
He first developed info services on SMS and M-Commerce applications for operators and enterprises in 1999 as a software engineer in EdgeMatrix. He then founded several mobile-related companies and delivered many first-of-its-kind products and services that were deployed for more than 10 mobile operators in South East Asia. Some of the notable products are mobile advertising using personalized SMS with cash rewards in 2000, MMS Video show on TV in 2003 and a patent-pending message system which enables both Web and Mobile users to chat via SMS.
See and his team first mooted enabling P2P Search & File Sharing for mobile which rides on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) in 2004. The product mBit has received global recognition and awards for its innovation and market potential. See became the CEO of mBit Pte Ltd where he is responsible for shaping the product features/roadmap, expansion into new markets and negotiating partnerships with operators, leading portals and telecommunications vendors such as Nokia Siemens Networks, Alcatel Lucent and Ericsson. mBit focuses on launching the P2P Search Advertising and File Sharing service under its own brand for global users and white-labeling for mobile operators.
In 2009, See joined Beoworld Sdn Bhd as the CTO to define the technology roadmap and company vision. With the strong product/project management & delivery and managing the teams in Malaysia, Indonesia, China and India, he has, with whatever limited resources, created a successful line of products & services including Games for leading handset brands across Asia. He is later promoted as COO of Beoworld, he is also responsible for the business operations & planning, forming strategic partnerships to spearhead key initiatives.
After Beoworld was acquired by Spice Group in Nov 2011, he was tasked to head the Appstore initiative in Jan 2012 under Spice Digital and establish strategic partnerships with Global Internet companies.
In Aug 2012, he joined Gmobi as GM for S.E. Asia. Mobile gaming, mobile advertising, billing and FOTA/IOT services are some key initiatives driven across 8 countries and more than 20 OEMs singlehandedly. This requires him to engage with a wide range of companies in different verticals such as digital media, mobile advertising, mobile payment, mobile gaming companies like Disney, GoGame, and device manufacturers/brands for IOT.
