Monica Bhatia is ex-Senior Vice President, Client Partner, APAC and Managing Director, Singapore at Essence, a global data and measurement-driven media agency which is part of GroupM (WPP)
A member of Essence’s APAC leadership team, Monica headed the agency’s Google media business across the region. She was also responsible for driving continued client-centric innovation in data, analytics and technology, as well as business growth and company culture for Essence in Singapore. A believer in true partnerships, she strives to nurture strong collaborative relationships with clients, and thrives using media, creativity and technology to create breakthrough work.
Prior to Essence, Monica led the digital practice at GroupM’s Maxus in APAC, building its product proposition across 14 markets. Brands she worked with include L’Oréal, Jetstar and Unicharm. With over 17 years in the industry, she has holistic multicultural marketing experience from the brand, as well as creative and media agency sides.
Monica is an advocate for women in leadership, and champions this topic through initiatives in the workplace and across industry platforms. She is also an active speaker at industry events and judge at award shows. A citizen of the world, she has lived and worked in India, Indonesia, Nepal, Vietnam and Singapore.
