Yang Xu is the Co-founder of Wagenlux, a Shanghai-based automotive aftermarket business aspiring to be the world’s leading luxury tuning brand. He has a diverse background in IT, digital media and ecommerce, across various geographies. His broad functional expertise includes strategy, marketing, finance and operations. Previously, Yang was with Naspers, a global technology investor from South Africa, that invested in Tencent early on and remains its largest shareholder to this day. As CFO eCommerce, he managed all financial activities in its global eCommerce portfolio, including investments in online retail, classifieds, online comparison shopping, marketplace, payments and online services, in Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, India, Middle East and Africa. Select portfolio companies include Ibibo, Flipkart, PayU, Allegro, OLX, Souq, Movile. Prior to that, he was CFO of Touchmedia, a Chinese digital media company. He also spent seven years with Dell, lastly serving as Finance Director, supporting Dell’s Small and Medium business unit in Asia-Pacific and Japan. Before that, he worked in finance and marketing functions in industry-leading companies such as Bloomberg, Capital One, and Dell’s US headquarters. Yang is a CFA charterholder and earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Shanghai International Studies University and his MBA from the University of Rochester, New York.
